Since 2017, AMFA has made its home at Ellwood Park, located at 31480 Maclure Road, just north of Old Yale Road in Clearbrook. Ellwood Park is connected to the Fishtrap Creek Park and has boasts two beautifully groomed and well maintained ball diamonds, a playground for the kids, washrooms and picnic tables as well as a lot of trees for shade. As our Home Field, it is where we hold many of our minor softball games, tournaments and Opening Ceremonies.

We are also excited to have these fields available for the AMFA

Infield Maintenance and Equipment Guidelines

If every user group adheres to the following process before and after ball field use, Abbotsford’s ball fields will retain the highest possible standard for the enjoyment of all.

Cancel games or practices if inclement weather will cause infield deterioration.
When pooling of water occurs on infields do not sweep or squeegee water. Instead, dig a hole in the centre of the puddle and scoop out the water. Dispose of water off field and rake material back into the hole.
Sweep infield material off grass onto the infield with a stiff bristle broom.

Hand rake infield edges, always parallel to the grass edge.

  • Dragging – keep dragging mat at least 1 foot from grass edge.

  • Go as slow as possible.

  • Begin at outside edge and work towards the centre

  • Do not pull dragging mat over grass.

  • Always pick up dragging mat before leaving infield surface.

Do not allow outfielders to dig ruts with their cleats.

All rakes, brooms, bases, pitching rubbers, liming tool and other tools must be returned to the equipment locker at the field and be neatly put away.
Clean up all garbage and place in proper receptacles.
Turn off lights and lock any buildings before leaving the park.
Damages to fields and mistreated equipment will be charged to the team responsible and may lead to loss of field privileges.

The City of Abbotsford Parks and Recreation Department appreciates the concern all groups have for maintaining our facilities in a condition that provides for the safe enjoyment of all users.
